The Discovery Museum will present a series of four community conversations at the museum on Tuesday evenings beginning in March 2019. The focus of the series will be on topics related to health and wellness. The four talks will feature local experts facilitating discussions, and will include time for networking, presentation, and group discussion.
The conversation topics are:
- The Expanding World of Consumer Genomics, with Dr. Charlie Wray (The Jackson Laboratory), Dr. Camelia Lawrence (Hartford Healthcare)
- Personal Genetics and Addiction, with Dr. Vivek Kumar (The Jackson Laboratory) and Maritza Bond (Bridgeport Health Department)
- Log Out and Discover: Screen Time and Health, with a panel discussion featuring local pediatrician (Dr. Marilyn Smith), neurologist (Dr. Dario Zagar), a psychiatrist (Dr. Jeffrey Deitz), an ophthalmologist (Dr. James Thimons), and a sleep medicine doctor (Dr. Lynelle Schneeberg, PsyD)
- Food for Thought: Eating for Wellness, with registered dieticians (Rebecca Bonetti and Kelly Gruber)
