Water is all around us, and has a powerful effect on our planet. Sometimes that effect can be big and sudden (hurricanes, floods, mudslides, blizzards), and sometimes it can be gradual (erosion, glaciers, river formation). We’ll explore erosion and do an activity that demonstrates how rainfall has the ability to shape the land around it. We’ll build mini-sand castles and test them against pipettes full of water to observe the effects. We’ll observe a demonstration of an overflowing river, and then design a solution to prevent the flooding.
