Women's History Month Celebration
Presented in partnership with the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women.
Saturday March 23, 2013, 10 am to 3 pm

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Museum will proudly host a day event that focuses on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) initiatives. We are reaching out to professional women who have careers in these disciplines who will share their stories. Visitors will get to meet these dynamic women and engage them in conversation about career opportunities for women in their fields. We will provide tote bags for visitors to collect souvenir items given away by the presenters. Admission to the Museum will be free this day and we anticipate welcoming hundreds of visitors to celebrate this important event; the 2012 event attracted more than 400 visitors.

Hispanic Heritage Celebration

Saturday, September 28, 2013

Join us as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and recognize the tremendous accomplishments of this rich and dynamic culture. It’s a day to learn about science and innovation, to talk to professionals who will share why they chose their field, what they do, and why they love the work. View the “Latin American Scientists Hall of Fame”, science demonstrations, planetarium shows, and “make and take” workshops for children. Use solar scopes and other viewing devices. Come celebrate the dance, music and food made familiar by our neighbors and community members. Free admission.
