Discovery Museum’s mission is deeply rooted in our history and presence in Bridgeport and Fairfield County. Our work benefits from joint ventures with a dynamic array of community partners, including:
The Adventure Park at Discovery Museum – Incorporated into the Discovery campus in 2008, the Adventure Park shares our mission of increasing children’s self-confidence and urge to explore. Through climbing trails and zip line activities, students overcome challenges in a safe and sustainable environment. The Adventure Park has consistently demonstrated its support for the Museum through fundraisers and with generous donations of climbing passes.

Barnum Museum – A local historical gem, the Barnum Museum is the last surviving building dedicated to Phineas Taylor Barnum. P.T. Barnum loved learning through engaging, and here at the Discovery Museum our goal is to inspire the same wonder through interactive STEM learning opportunities.

Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo – As another nonprofit with a strong history and responsibility to sustainability in the Bridgeport community, the Beardsley Zoo and Discovery make a great team. We have partnered with Beardsley to bring animals to the Museum for special event days and for our STEM Summer Programs.

Discovery Interdistrict Magnet School – Discovery Magnet School was founded in 2008 and has since become its own flourishing learning environment. We partner with this neighboring school to host an array of unique enrichment opportunities. Students visit the Museum frequently, and the Discovery Magnet School is our main site for implementation of Discover NASA, a grant-funded program dedicated to the development and implementation of a rocketry curriculum for K-8 classrooms, and a high school-level extracurricular rocketry club..

Sacred Heart University – SHU and Discovery have collaborated to improve student work experience. Located just across the street from the university, Discovery offers students the chance to gain experience through both employment and volunteer opportunities. Operating in the nonprofit sector requires student involvement in multiple areas of business, allowing them to develop a versatile resume while helping the surrounding community. Last year, the Jack Welch MBA program offered the Museum a team of students who worked on a market research project for their capstone course. Discovery is always glad to welcome the young talent that Sacred Heart has to share.

Established by Analiese Paik , Sustainne connects consumers with businesses who operate sustainably, helping one another strengthen and grow their ecosystem through collaboration and innovation. Education is a large part of this collaboration, and Discovery is eager to share these practices with the community as a center for the implementation of new ideas.
